A delegation from the State of Libya, including the Acting Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Abdel Fattah Ghaffar, and the Acting Minister of Finance, Mohamed Al-Shahoubi, participated in the ninth conference of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank).AIIB), which was held in the city of Samar Qand, Uzbekistan, during the period from 24 to 26 September.
On the sidelines of the conference, the delegation met with the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank “to discuss many important issues related to investment in infrastructure and sustainable development, where the Libyan delegation presented its vision on enhancing international cooperation in this field, the investment opportunities available in Libya and the importance of supporting development projects.” Which contributes to rebuilding the country’s infrastructure.”
The governor-designate stressed “the importance of the partnership with the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank to achieve sustainable economic development,” noting that “Libya seeks to attract more foreign investments to support the national economy.”
For his part, the Acting Minister of Finance noted “the efforts made to improve the investment environment in Libya and provide the necessary facilities to investors,” stressing “the commitment of the National Unity Government to enhance transparency and achieve financial and economic stability.”
