A Libyan delegation participated in the training course organized by the International Monetary Fund’s Middle East Center for Economics and Finance in the State of Kuwait.

The Libyan delegation that participated in the course – which was held under the title “Preparing Public Debt Forecasts and Public Finance Consolidation Pathways – Public Debt Dynamics Tool (PPDFAP)” – included 3 candidates from the National Anti-Corruption Authority and the Ministries of Planning and Finance.

The course, in which representatives from 22 countries participated, aims to enable participants to calculate public debt dynamics and identify the main drivers of public debt dynamics, in addition to the possibility of calculating the necessary public finance adjustment measures to achieve the set target for public debt.

The IMF Middle East Center for Economics and Finance, which organized the events of this session, is a regional center affiliated with the International Monetary Fund that targets the twenty-two member countries of the League of Arab States and is hosted and funded by the State of Kuwait.

The Center is part of the IMF’s global network of seventeen Regional Capacity Development Centers. The Center began operations in 2011 and was officially inaugurated in 2014.
