Libya: Yemen welcomes compromises reached in Bouznika on drafting electoral laws
Aden – Yemen has welcomed the compromises reached by the “6+6” joint committee, tasked by the Libyan House of Representatives and the Council of State to prepare electoral laws, after two weeks of meetings in Morocco, on the laws governing the presidential and parliamentary elections scheduled for the end of the year.
In a statement, the Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the efforts made by the Kingdom of Morocco to ensure the success of this dialogue and reach these compromises.
The same source stressed Yemen’s support for any effort that can achieve the aspirations of the Libyan people for security, stability and development.
The “6+6” joint commission announced on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday that its members had reached, after two weeks of meetings in Morocco, a compromise on the laws governing presidential and parliamentary elections.
The Bouznika meeting is part of the continuation of the series of meetings hosted by the Kingdom, bringing together the various Libyan parties with a view to deepening dialogue on ways and means to lead to the resolution of the crisis in this country, following an approach that provides the appropriate space for dialogue and constructive consultation.
