Libyan-Tunisian-Algerian agreement to enhance economic cooperation

The heads of the Federations of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Libya, Algeria and Tunisia signed a cooperation and partnership agreement to enhance economic cooperation and encourage inter-trade between the three countries.

The Ministry of Economy and Trade in the Government of National Unity said, “The agreement aims to achieve economic cooperation at the private sector level, by working to prepare forums for companies and business owners, unifying efforts to ensure the flow of goods according to the specifications and standard criteria approved by the three countries, activating the role of the private sector in investing in free zones, and integrating youth into joint investment projects targeted by the Ministry of Economy and Trade.”

She explained that “the agreement includes coordinating work with the relevant government agencies to restore inter-trade lines, open land crossings, and operate sea lines to facilitate trade exchange and the movement of businessmen in the three countries.”

The agreement was signed by the President of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Libya, Mohammed Al-Raid, with his counterparts, the President of the Tunisian Confederation of Industries and Trade, Samir Majoul, and the President of the Algerian Economic Renewal Council, Kamal Moula.
