Four students from Sanremo’s Liceo Cassini are representing western Liguria at the International Ministerial Summit Next Gen AI, a multi-day educational event running from October 18 to 23, 2026, across Milan and Cernobbio.
The Ministry of Education and Merit selected the Sanremo institution as a national reference point for STEM disciplines and multilingualism. That distinction grants the school the rare role of hosting 10 regional delegations from across Italy for the international gathering, which centers on emerging educational methodologies powered by artificial intelligence.
The initiative operates under the broader framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan within the School Future section. Educational leaders and ministerial representatives are convening to examine how generative models alter classroom instruction.
Delegation Members and Accompanying Faculty From Liceo Cassini
Four young scholars carry the voice of their coastal community into a high-level technological arena. Melissa Rossi of the linguistic high school works alongside Sofia Rainisio from the scientific track. They are joined by Stefano Spitali representing the classical high school and Oscar Palmero from the musical track.
Guiding the student group along the journey is professor Marco Croesi. Behind-the-scenes administrative organization and institutional coordination rest with principal Mara Ferrero, professor Stefania Sandra, and administrative assistant Sandra Rambaldi, ensuring continuous support as the delegation moves between Lombardy and the Como area.
Hackathon Challenges and Predictive Data Analysis Sessions
The itinerary features intensive training modules tackling complex modern questions. Participants confront global challenges and ethical considerations surrounding machine intelligence.
Technical hackathon sessions challenge the students to apply generative models directly to scientific coursework. Additional workshops focus on predictive data analytics and establishing core principles for digital citizenship.
Continuous Innovation Across Milan and Cernobbio
This appearance builds directly upon earlier institutional milestones. The school previously established its technological footprint by participating in prominent innovation settings in Milan and Naples throughout 2025.
By positioning itself between complex algorithmic mechanics and responsible digital use, the Sanremo school acts as a vital bridge. The outcomes emerging from these intensive training sessions are slated to influence future teaching frameworks across both scientific and humanities disciplines in Italian classrooms.
