Kochi ∙ Chief Minister’s Assistant in connection with the construction of Life Mission flat complex in Vadakkanchery in the case of paying a bribe of Rs. 4.50 crore. Private Secretary CM Ravindran will be questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) today. ED notice has been given to Ravindran to appear at the Kochi office at 10 am.

It is not clear whether Ravindran will come for questioning. If you do not appear today, ED will continue to issue notices. If they do not appear despite three notices, the ED may take measures including arrest.

The ED case alleges that out of the Rs 19 crore paid by the UAE Red Crescent organization to the contractor Unitac for the construction of the flat, Rs 4.50 crore was paid as bribe. Ravindran is being interrogated to know the relationship and transactions with Swapna Suresh, who revealed that he paid bribe, and Unitac owner Santosh Eepan.

Ravindran took the stand that he had nothing to do with Swapna. But ED has collected WhatsApp conversations between them. Based on this, the ED may question the relationship with Swapna. Swapna’s allegations against Ravindran may also be subject to questioning. The ED may also look into the connection of the Chief Minister’s office in the bribery deal.
