Power Minister Kanchana Wijesekara mentioned this matter.

A further 12 coal barges are planned to be brought into the country through a different system after earlier bids to bring coal were rejected.

Kanchana said that 3 lakh metric tons of coal has been brought to Sri Lanka through 3 coal ships. It is noteworthy that he has also informed that he is preparing to bring 28 more coal ships.
