Lifetime Tomb Raider Series Sales Revealed After Embracer Group Deal

Square Enix’s decision to sell a range of series and studios to the Embracer Group has yielded some interesting information, including sales of the Tomb Raider series for its lifetime.

Following the Embracer Group’s agreement to buy Eidos Montreal, Square Enix Montreal and Crystal Dynamics studios from Square Enix, the company has shared a timeline for the Tomb Raider series. On schedule, Tomb Raider has sold up to 88 million units since its launch in 1996, with 38 million lifetime sales coming from the Reboot Trilogy alone, which includes Tomb Raider (2013), Rise of the Tomb Raider and Shadow of the Tomb. Raider.

In addition to the above, the series has seen more than 53 million paid mobile downloads of games such as Lara Croft: Relic Run and Lara Croft: Go.

Embracer Group’s schedule for the Tomb Raider series reveals that Tomb Raider has sold 88 million units since its 1996 launch.

The timeline shows other Tomb Raider games such as Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light and Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris subgenres, as well as games prior to Reboot 2013, including Tomb Raider: Legend, Tomb Raider: Anniversary, and Tomb Raider: Underworld.
