Lifting of sanctions on six countries, including South Africa

The ban on entry into Sri Lanka from six African countries, including South Africa, has been lifted due to the Omigron variant.

The ban has been revoked with immediate effect, said Upul Dharmadasa, chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority.

He said it had received the approval of the Director General of Health Services.

It is noteworthy that Sri Lanka was banned from visiting six countries: South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Lesotho and Ezwatini.
