Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Rain Alert: Widespread rains are expected in the state today. There will be heavy rain in isolated places. Based on this, yellow alert has been declared in 10 districts today. The yellow alert has been issued in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Malappuram and Kozhikode districts.

Pre-monsoon rains are also reported these days as a result of the southwesterly winds. Heavy isolated showers are expected in Central and North Kerala. Fishermen are also advised not to go to sea.
