When lightning struck a tree at a tourist restaurant south of Stuttgart, three people were critically injured, including a child. According to the police, the eleven-year-old, a 43-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man were sitting at a beer table set under the tree on Saturday afternoon. First responders tended to the injured before they were taken to hospitals. A rescue helicopter flew the boy to a clinic.
