After a 1-0 victory against Ajaccio last weekend, Auxerre could only leave with the score of the draw on Friday November 4 on the evening of their trip to Troyes (1-1). It was Christophe Pelissier’s second match on the Auxerre bench. Concerning Troyes, the situation is starting to be worrying: no home win since… August 28th. Estac had however opened the scoring by Rony Lopes (28e), but AJA, dominating in the second half, equalized through Gaëtan Perrin at the end of the match (86e).

The Trojans, who have taken only 4 points in the last 6 games (4 draws, 2 losses), provisionally retain their 12e place with 14 units on the clock, 4 more than the first relegated, Strasbourg.

A week after beating Ajaccio for the debut of their new coach, the Auxerrois hung on to obtain a draw which allows them to grab two places in the standings and point to 14e rank with 13 points. After a favorable start to the match at Troyes, it was Auxerre who proved to be dangerous first: on a corner, Julian Jeanvier, alone at the far post, did not frame his header (19e). Then, on a cross from Lassine Sinayoko, Gauthier Hein’s pretty “Madjer” went just wide (21e).

Auxerre finishes strong

The Champagne response was quick with a strike from Lopes which crashed into the crossbar (25e). On the next corner, Xavier Chavalerin placed a powerful shot that was narrowly repelled by Benoît Costil (26e). The third big chance was the right one for Estac: after a nice number on the right side, where he eliminated Rayan Raveloson with a nice double contact, Mama Baldé infiltrated the area and centered back to Lopes, who concluded with an unstoppable pivot shot (1-0, 28e).

Upon returning from the locker room, AJA stepped on the accelerator and was almost rewarded. Sinayoko first sent his shot just above (51e), then Raveloson found Gauthier Gallon’s post (56e) before placing a cross cleared in extremis by the Aube goalkeeper (65e). The Trojans reacted thanks to the untenable Baldé, whose volley was blocked (66e). Renaud Ripart then came up against Costil (70e), then the young Wilson Odobert dribbled past the icaunais goalkeeper, but his shot was pushed back in front of his line by Gideon Mensah (84e).

Finally, the Burgundians ended up winning a deserved equalizer after a good action: Mathias Autret launched Sinayoko well, who sent a cross back to Perrin, who delivered his own with a flat foot (1-1, 86e).
