Ligue 1: Rennes extends Guéla Doué until 2025

by time news

At Stade Rennes for more than ten years, Guéla Doué continues the adventure. According to our information, the young 20-year-old defender, whose contract ended at the end of the season, must extend this Tuesday for two more seasons with his training club. Turned professional in November 2021, he had signed until June 2023 only, but with a two-year option that the Breton leaders chose to activate during the season.

Not yet used in the top flight by Bruno Génésio, he has made several appearances on the bench, including the latest on Sunday against PSG (1-0). Appreciated by his coaches for his hard-working spirit and his versatility, Guéla Doué’s favorite position is that of right-back, but he can also play in the center of defense or in midfield.

It was precisely in the midfield that he participated in Rennes’ victory in a friendly against Brest (3-1), on December 22, at Roazhon Park. He comes from the 2002 generation which released several promising elements such as Eduardo Camavinga, Brandon Soppy or Georginio Rutter, who has just made the news with his transfer to Leeds.
