The 2023-2024 Ligue 1 football season will start on the weekend of August 12 and 13, 2023 and end on Saturday May 18, 2024.

Main feature of this new season, 18 clubs, against 20 so far, are in the running for the first place in the championship. FC Metz and Le Havre are entering L 1, promoted on the wire during the last day of L 2 last year. Alongside them in Ligue 1: PSG, the defending champion, but also Lens, Marseille, Lille, AS Monaco, Olympique Lyonnais, Clermont, OGC Nice, FC Lorient, Stade de Reims, Stade Rennes, Stade Brestois, Montpellier, Toulouse, Strasbourg and FC Nantes. In total, 34 days and 306 matches played during this edition.
Another specificity concerning the calendar: the 17th day will be played on weekdays, Wednesday December 20, 2023, before the start of the winter break. The matches will then resume on the weekend of January 13 and 14, 2024. Also note: the two clasicos between OM and PSG will be played on the 6th day for the first leg (September 24) and the 27th day for the return (March 31).
