Released on a free by Bordeaux after an ongoing legal recovery process in the Girondins, striker Aliou Badji has signed with Red Star, the Seine-Saint-Denis club announced on Monday evening. A coach with a winding career, Badji even crossed Sweden, Austria, Egypt and Turkey before settling in France in 2021, in Amiens. Prominent during his only season in Picardy (14 goals), he proved to be particularly talented in Gironde, with only five goals scored in a season and a half. Having failed in Bordeaux, he was loaned to Gaziantep (Turkey) in the first half of 2024, without shining there.
Despite an uncertain statistical record, Aliou Badji will be able to bring his experience to Red Star, who is promoted to Ligue 2. He is the fifth player for the company of Grégory Poirier, after Bradley Danger (Rodez), Josué Escartin (Brest), Samuel Renel and Dylan Durivaux (Niort). Club Audon starts its L 2 season on Friday evening in Amiens (8 pm).
