While the Czechoslovak state was just being formed, the swimming pool in Senohraby was already celebrating almost twenty years of its existence. One of the oldest river baths in the republic, operated by the Okrášlováčí spolek, was popular with Prague’s middle class, and over time artists and tramps also flocked here. Today, the blue-and-white house and cabins on the shore are cared for by enthusiasts, and thanks to them, swimming on the Sázava River is experiencing another golden age.
The Senohraby swimming pool in the Prague-Východ district is surrounded by a forest and a river, on which a ferryman with a blue and white T-shirt shuttles between the two banks. Although the water is only knee-deep in most places, people of all generations come to frolic at the ford.
By the blue-and-white house, the administrators of the complex, who discovered the magic of the swimming pool 25 years ago and together breathed into it the atmosphere of Whimsical Summer, are sunbathing. Although the history of the place dates back to the end of the 19th century, in the wild 1990s, few people ventured to the swimming pool, so it almost disappeared. See how people return to the river again. They enjoy it just as they did a hundred years ago.
