According to Liksutov, the localization of components will increase every year. He clarified that, according to the instructions of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, Moskvich will produce cars made only from Russian components on its own unique platform in a few years. It is assumed that this task will be completed by 2025. “We are working on this together with KAMAZ and, I am sure, we will cope. We will try to do it earlier,” Liksutov said. He stressed that all spare parts and components for the new “Moskvich” will be produced at the same plant.

Half of the volume of 2024 is expected to be assembled through the full cycle, including welding and painting.

On April 26, the Ministry of Industry and Trade reported that Renault had decided to transfer a stake in its Renault Russia plant (formerly Avtoframos) to the Moscow government. In the spring, Sobyanin announced that the plant would produce cars under the Moskvich brand, and in the future, electric cars.
