No more planes will land or take off from Limoges airport (Haute-Vienne) until December 11. The site has been closed since Monday. During this six-week period, major work is planned on the 2.5 km track.
The workers will work on the asphalt, on the sewerage network, the aircraft parking lots and the LED beaconing.
About 10,000 travelers affected
Between 10,000 to 12,000 passengers should be impacted by this closure, according to France 3 Nouvelle-Aquitaine. They are invited to travel via Brive and Bergerac airports. Since January, Limoges airport has seen 166,000 passengers. “We hope for 190,000 by the end of the year”, confided to the Popular of the Center the director of the airport, Philippe Thibaut.
