Linda Jongman will start her own practice in the new year. Under the name Dietist Zierikzee, the 35-year-old resident from Zierikzee settles in care boulevard Victoria.
Linda Jongman (photo) indicates that after having worked for seven years as a dietician in the business community of her hometown of Rotterdam, she is ready for a new step. Moreover, driving up and down to Rotterdam was also a reason to look closer to home because of the increasing traffic on the road.
She would like to assist people of all ages with additional problems. After all, half of the Netherlands is currently overweight. “It starts with a healthy childhood. A healthy weight in children is very important. Learned young is done old”, says Linda Jongman. She is therefore interested in dietics for children.
“In your youth you build up fat cells. When you have a healthy weight in your youth, you are much more likely to be healthy as an adult.” She recently presented this and other ‘wise lessons’ during a guest lesson at the Theo Thijssenschool. “Children came home and asked for fruit instead of candy or cake.” She wants to give such lessons more often.
