The FIFA awards ceremony of the year – “THE BEST” – was held this evening (Monday) in Paris with the participation of the top of world football, and Lionel Messi was once again the big winner. The big star who completed a dream year with an unforgettable World Cup win with the Argentine national team received the world player of the year award ( in his many incarnations) for the seventh time in his career – two more than Cristiano Ronaldo, who ranks second in the all-time list.
Messi beat the other two finalists – his Paris Saint-Germain teammate Kylian Mbappe and Karim Benzema, who came in third place and did not show up for the ceremony. After Messi was given the award by FIFA President Gianni Infantino, the flea said: “I am happy to be here again and between two such players who had an amazing season. I want to thank all my friends in the team and the national team and personally to Scalloni and Dibo (Emiliano Martins) who are here and this award is recognition for what we all did.”

As mentioned, 2022 was a year that Messi will never forget.
