“Lion’s Den” investors panic |
“If we lose THAT, I won’t come back!”
It was the last episode of the current season” The lion’s den“ (Vox) – and Ralf Dummel (55) really wanted to close this deal!
On Monday evening, Melina Neumann (24) and Ana Hansel (37) pitched with “ HistaFit“ a concept for low-histamine nutrition – and caused quite a stir in the predator cage.
Tired and exhausted in the past, now you have a good night’s sleep! For years, Ana and Melina had to struggle with chronic complaints such as headaches, nausea, abdominal pain and dizziness. Until they finally got a diagnosis: histamine intolerance!
The problem: while supermarkets often have separate areas for gluten- or lactose-free foods, low-histamine products are usually completely absent. The “HistaFit” food range is now set to change that! Among other things, Ana and Melina sell muesli, sauces and spreads – of course everything is low in histamine.
After tasting it, all the lions agreed: “HistaFit” is really tasty! But did they like the offer? For 15 percent of their company, Ana and Melina asked 160,000 euros – pretty steep for a few snacks!
think! Because there is much more to “HistaFit”. For the past two years, Ana and Melina have been running a successful online course on histamine intolerance, and have also launched a range of low histamine dietary supplements. Carsten Maschmeyer (63) surprised: “Are you involved in everything?” You are!
Hype about “HistaFit” – suddenly the lions were wild about the deal!
There were two combined offers for the founders. Ralf Dümmel and nutritional supplement professional Nils Glagau (46) offered 160,000 euros, but for a whole 25 percent. Glagau: “That would be an ingenious combination and we would stand by your side with passion, experience, know-how and manpower.”
Nico Rosberg (37) and Dagmar Wöhrl (68) also worked together – but demanded a comparatively meager 20 percent.
But Dümmel was really hot for “HistaFit”! While the founders were conferring, he whispered to Glagau: “If we lose that, then I won’t come back.”
Glagau’s calm answer: “We won’t lose that!” The start-up investor was to be right. Although Dümmel and Glagau had to improve again, they also went to 20 percent, but in the end they were awarded the contract.
BILD knows: The first joint deal between Dümmel and Glagau came about after the broadcast. So there is hope that Ralf Dümmel will be back next season…
By the way: In season 12, the lions invested a total of 4.7 million euros in promising start-ups.
