Liraz Tafarat Natan Ketah Tikva, the assistant of the abusive kindergarten teacher Carmel Ma’oda, will be released to her home before serving her full sentence.

The release committee that discussed the request of the assistant represented by lawyer Chen Meiri and after the state did not object to her release determined that she would be released in about a month from Neve Tirsha.

Liraz was sentenced to 24 months in prison and she has served 11 months so far (entered prison on 15.2.22).

Liraz did not express remorse in court or in front of her parents, did not admit her actions and all along claimed her innocence until she was convicted according to the videos documenting her actions which include beatings, head pulling, whippings, beatings and more.

The claim for the early release is a rehabilitation procedure that she is undergoing in prison and that she requests to be released to continue the rehabilitation procedure in the hostel. As mentioned, this claim was accepted and will be released in a month.

Nicole Daniel, the representative of the parents: “We are hurt and this time surprised that the state is again abandoning our children. The state has proven that the protection of the children is not in its eyes when it does not oppose the request for release. My son is tied to a chair on several occasions even though he is seen on video crying, twisting and trying to free himself, the whipping Bo with a cloth, slapped him on the mattress, hit him, slapped him, pulled his head back. She was there when Carmel abused all the children. How do you even let her go? What is the message being sent to anyone who harms children?”
