This is according to the Global Cost of Living Survey by the Economist Intelligence Unit, New York.

172 cities were taken up for study
Expenditures on more than 200 items, including housing, transportation, food, and clothing, are taken into account.
Based on the cost of daily living, luxury cities are listed.
172 cities have been taken up for this study which was carried out last August and September.
Among them, it is said that Damascus, the capital of Syria, and Tripoli, Libya, are among the most affordable cities in the world.
