List of municipalities where there will be water rationing: it is not only Bogotá

by time news

Last Thursday, April 4, it was learned that the Mayor’s Office of Bogotá announced that water rationing will be carried out in the country’s capital due to the low levels of the different reservoirs that supply the city with water.

By the way, the Mayor’s Office of Bogotá, represented by Mayor Carlos Fernando Galán, issued urgent statements about the critical situation of reservoir levels in the central region of the country, particularly in the Bogotá savannah.

In a press conference, Galán expressed the seriousness of the situation by stating that they are on “red alert” and that saving measures have been implemented since January, achieving significant savings in drinking water.

“We are in a critical situation, on red alert. Therefore, we have to take measures,” declared the mayor.

“We have managed to save about one cubic meter per second of drinking water since January, but that is still insufficient,” he said.

In that sense, it was also known that next Monday, April 8, the details of how the consumption restriction will work over the next few days will be known.

However, Bogotá will not be the only place where it happens, since municipalities surrounding the country’s capital will also have rationing.
