The year 2023 went down in Hollywood history thanks to the summer hits Barbie and Oppenheimer, which were well received by audiences and critics. On Monday night, Oppenheimer will be among the favorites at the Oscars. The talk of money, however, was Adam Sandler. This follows from the list of the highest paid actors, which was published by Forbes magazine this Friday.

Adam Sandler, fresh from starring in the film Cosmonaut from Bohemia, was the highest-paid actor in Hollywood in 2023. The 57-year-old American acted in three films. After paying the expenses of the agent, manager and lawyer, he made a total of about 73 million dollars, or about 1.6 billion crowns, according to Forbes.
Last year, Sandler appeared in Murder in Paris alongside actress Jennifer Aniston, starred in the comedy You’re Definitely Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah, and also voiced the lead role of a lizard in the animated Leo. In addition, he has done 44 stand-up shows across the US as a comedian.
In 2014, Sandler signed a contract with Netflix worth 250 million dollars, which is about 5.7 billion crowns. And according to Forbes, the video library is paying off – in the first six months of last year alone, subscribers to this service spent over 500 million hours watching Sandler’s films. “It is completely out of the question that they could ever overeat Adam Sandler,” commented one of the heads of the company, Ted Sarandos.
Adam Sandler returned to the top of the Forbes list for the first time since 2002, when he was the star of films such as Mr. Deeds – Accidental Millionaire or Drunk on Love. Back then, it was enough for him to win $47 million, adds the British daily Guardian.
