Be careful if you bought bacon recently. Several boxes from the same producer “Bioporc Na Nature / La Saveur Biopoc” marketed between December 29 and January 2, 2024 have been recalled because these bacon pieces are likely to contain listeria, indicates the dedicated Rappel Conso site.

Listeria can cause “more or less high fever, accompanied by headaches and, sometimes, digestive problems,” according to the Ministry of Health. In detail, these are natural bacon and smoked bacon from the brands “Le Bio des Éleveurs” and “Le P’tit Bio”.

Natural bacon “Le Bio des Eleveurs” bear lot number 874343, smoked ones batch number 874346. In both cases, these are products marketed by Carrefour, Système U, Leclerc and Auchan whose expiration date was February 4, 2024. These two products were sold in the form of plastic trays of 150g.

Do not consume them

THE plain bacon “Le P’tit Bio” to lot number 874344 and the smoked bacon of the same brand at number 874345 are also affected. Their expiration date is also February 4. These products – in 150 g trays – were sold at Relais Vert, NaturéO and Biofrais.

For these four products, Rappel Conso advises that you no longer consume them and “return them to the point of sale” or destroy them. A refund is possible until January 22, 2024. A contact number is available: it is 02 51 87 85 29.

However, “people who have consumed these products and who present with fever, isolated or accompanied by headaches, and body aches, are invited to consult their doctor and report this consumption.”
