At this time, a demonstration of thousands is being held in Tel Aviv and other cities in Israel against the legal reform.

The opposition leader Yair Lapid, among others, is participating in the protest, who announced that he will participate in this year’s protests for the first time this week after receiving criticism when he refrained from doing so the previous two times.

In addition to him, the chairman of the state camp, MK Benny Gantz, also came to the demonstration against the legal reforms near the Kaplan intersection in Tel Aviv.

“I hope you are already on your way to the demonstration and if you are not yet on your way then go ahead, get organized and arrive,” Gantz said before the address.

“We will protest according to the law. We want to maintain our democracy and public support and the activity in demonstrations is very important to our political struggle in reaching the right agreements. We are ready to reach agreements, but we are not ready to destroy democracy and we will insist on this matter. So let’s go – Beer Sheva, Tel Aviv, Haifa and Jerusalem, we all go out into the field.”

“We will not allow the defendant and his accomplices to turn Israel into Hungary. Tonight’s protests all over the country are a first step towards a determined protest that will go on and intensify its steps. The coup will encounter unprecedented civil resistance.”

The former Chairman of the Constitution Committee, Member of Knesset Gilad Karib said this evening: “Tonight’s demonstration is one of the largest the country has known, and the next ones will be even bigger.”

“Netanyahu’s extremist partners know very well that he is under pressure from the public protest and from the international criticism and that is the reason why they press the gas pedal in the destructive legislative procedures.”

“This is also the reason why, together with the members of the opposition, this week they are canceling the Constitutional Committee’s deliberations, which were intended to legitimize the destruction of Israeli democracy.”
