The French rugby sevens team kicked off the gold medal count by defeating Fiji in the final match (28-7). Swimmer Léon Marchand secured four gold medals in the 400-meter medley, 200-meter butterfly, 200-meter breaststroke, and 200-meter medley. Pauline Ferrand-Prévot also claimed gold in mountain biking, while Nicolas Gestin won gold in canoeing (slalom) and Manon Apithy-Brunet in fencing with the saber. Cassandre Beaugrand secured gold in triathlon, and Teddy Riner won gold in judo (+100 kg) and the team event.

The second week of the Games saw young Kauli Vaast claim gold in surfing, marking the first gold medal for France in the Olympic Games in the discipline. Benjamin Thomas secured gold in track cycling, marking the first French gold in the sport since 2000. France also achieved a historic hat-trick in BMX, with Joris Daudet claiming gold and Sylvain André and Romain Mahieu securing silver and bronze.
The French volleyball team capped off the Games by winning the Olympic volleyball title against Poland. Althéa Laurin, 22, became the final French athlete to win gold in taekwondo (+67 kg), defeating Uzbek Svetlana Osipova.
