jpnn.com – SACHSENRING – Francesco Bagnaia went crazy at the 2024 German MotoGP Warm Up at the Sachsenring Circuit, Sunday (7/7) afternoon WIB.
The reigning MotoGP champion, riding the Ducati Lenovo Iron Horse, recorded a time of one minute 20.638 seconds, 0.080 seconds ahead of Franco Morbidelli (Prima Pramac Racing).
Morbidelli’s teammate Jorge Martin was third.
Martin, the 2024 MotoGP standings leader and also the winner of Saturday night’s sprint, was 0.164 seconds behind Pecco Bagnaia.
The warm-up does not determine the starting position or even any points to be competed for.
However, warm up is vital for the riders and their teams to determine their strategy or setup for the race.
It is not uncommon for racers to go all out during the warm-up, even resulting in accidents or smoking/burning motorbikes, resulting in them being unable to appear in the race.
Marc Marquez was in 4th position in the warm-up at the Sachsenring earlier.
