Arsenal twice took the lead through Saka and Merino but Liverpool hit back with equal numbers from Van Dijk and Salah, as a 2-2 draw at the Emirates left Manchester City alone at the top of the table.
The big battle in North London between Arsenal and Liverpool found both teams giving it their all and finding the back of the net, but there was no winner.
Mikel Arteta’s side took the lead twice, with goals from Saka and Merino, but Arne Slott’s side did not relent and responded with equal numbers from Van Dijk and Salah to draw 2-2 which left them alone at the top of the standings the champion of Manchester. City.
The game
Arsenal went into the game strongly and only took the lead in a spectacular way in the 9th minute. In the second half Liverpool put the pressure on in search of an equalizer and finally got it in the 81st minute through a good team effort, Alexander-Arnold finding Nunes to stun the ball and the Uruguayan feeding Salah to beat the Egyptian Raya with his place from the height of the penalty and write 2-2.
In the final minutes both teams tried but couldn’t find a goal, 2-2 remained until the final and leaving Liverpool in second place and lifting Arsenal to 3rd place, with Manchester City at the top now after the first 9 games.
