The reds took the lead in the score just 10 minutes into the game through Portuguese player Fábio Carvalho, after an assist from compatriot Diogo Jota. The advantage was further extended in the first half by English international Curtis Jones. In the second half, Tsimikas closed the score at 3-0 in favor of Liverpool.

In Arne Slot’s team, the two Portuguese players, Fábio Carvalho and Diogo Jota, were starters. Meanwhile, Diogo Dalot and Bruno Fernandes have not yet been included in Ten Hag’s plans for this match, following a holiday period.

Liverpool will return to the pitch on the 11th against Sevilla in the final preparation match for the new season. In contrast, Manchester United will already be competing for a title in their next match. The red devils will face rivals Manchester City for the Community Shield on Saturday (August 10).
