Liverpool fans may not have a sense of hospitality, but they do have a sense of humor. While the clash between the Reds and Real Madrid in the knockout stages of the Champions League will be played tonight (8 p.m.), British fans have organized a small night party in front of the Madrid players’ hotel.
Fireworks lit up the sky around 2 a.m. Not sure, however, that the festivities, aimed at disturbing the sleep of Liverpool’s opponents, amused the Merengues. This is not the first time that Liverpool supporters have used this old trick: in 2019, before their fantastic victory against Barcelona (4-0), they had already done it.
The Reds are experiencing a start to the season well below their expectations. They receive this Tuesday Real Madrid, not necessarily much more dashing. The perfect opportunity to relaunch and wash away the affront last May at the Stade de France, where they had beaten in the Champions League final.
