Liverpool wants to start with a victory in the Champions League

A new edition of the Champions League begins with a new format after 21 years with the eight-group format. One of the most interesting matches of the first matchday in the group stage is Milan vs. Liverpool, which will be played at the San Siro stadium.

“Luis Díaz seemed like the only player who could have given us a spark. He wasn’t at his best, but he seemed the most fitting until he left, while Mohamed Salah undoubtedly had one of his worst matches with the club,” Aldridge stated after Liverpool’s defeat over the weekend against Nottingham Forest.

For today’s match, players like Harvey Elliot and Federico Chiesa would not be available, while Bennacer and Florenzi would also be out for the home team due to injuries that have kept them off the field for several days.

The last time they met in the Champions League was in 2021, when Liverpool won both times, at Anfield and at San Siro. They recently faced each other in an international friendly.
