Liverpool has not yet officially appointed a successor to its coach Jurgen Klopp, who will leave at the end of the season, but this has not prevented the Reds from being linked to including one of the most exciting young talents in the Spanish League.
According to the Liverpool Echo website, the name of Japanese Takefusa Kubo, the current Real Sociedad and former Real Madrid winger, has been linked to a move to Liverpool this summer to apparently compensate for the possible departure of Egyptian star Mohamed Salah.
The site added: “Liverpool may be in the market for a high-caliber striker this summer as speculation continues surrounding Mohamed Salah’s future. The 32-year-old is approaching the final 12 months of his contract at Anfield, and has yet to agree new terms before Arne Slott is officially appointed as Liverpool’s new coach.
Speculation increased about Salah’s departure from Liverpool after his crisis with Klopp and their getting into an argument in front of the cameras in the last West Ham United match.
On the other hand, Takefusa Kubo, 22, received a lot of praise for his performance in the Spanish First Division this season, with several reports linking him to a move to one of the big clubs this summer.
Kubo, who was a member of the FC Barcelona academy, scored seven goals and provided three assists in the 37 matches he played with Sociedad in all competitions this season.
Sociedad had signed Kubo from Real Madrid for a modest sum of 5.5 million pounds sterling in 2022.
