With this result, Liverpool temporarily occupies the third position in the league phase of the Champions League, while Milan sits in 32nd place.
The top eight teams secure a spot in the round of 16, while those from 9th to 24th compete in a playoff for a chance to advance. Teams finishing between 25th and 36th are eliminated.
In the league phase, each team plays eight matches, four at home and four away.

A Liverpool fan died at the age of 51 on the night of this Monday (17) while preparing to watch the Champions League match against Milan in the outskirts of Milan.

An Irishman, the unidentified man was tragically hit by a vehicle while crossing the A4 highway near Orio al Serio airport in Bergamo, west of Milan.
