Unless the situation turns around, Darwin Nunez will leave Benfica for Liverpool. Many Portuguese and English media are talking about an imminent arrival. The Uruguayan striker (22) would have had the authorization of his selection to embark for England. He will spend his medical there before signing a contract until 2027 or 2028 with the Reds.

This is not a trivial transfer: Liverpool should spend between 70 and 80 M€ for Nunez, with bonuses which can raise the bill up to 100 M€. The daily A Bola ensures that Nunez only has to play 60 matches for Liverpool for this bonus to be effective. Liverpool’s biggest purchase so far remains defender Virgil van Dijk, who was signed for €88m from Southampton in 2017. Nunez has scored 34 goals in 41 appearances for Benfica this season.
