The exhibition, which will remain open to the public until 12 October 2024, highlights the intense relationship between doctors and patients, immortalized through the black and white shots of Mirella Caldarone.

Numerous protagonists of the photographic shots exhibited were present at the exhibition together with local authorities and representatives.

The President of the Health Club, Dr Flora Brudagliounderlined the profound meaning of the exhibition, which aims to «open a new chapter for the Club, an innovative way of communicating with the territory. We want to share a message of hope with the healthcare community, making the art of caring a cultural project that becomes a commitment of social value.”

Brudaglio added: «This exhibition is part of the larger project “Everyone for the care of everyone”created in collaboration with local institutions and associations. For us it represents an individual and group journey, in which we rediscover the roots of our choice of professional life, strengthening with the colors of the soul the relationship of trust with those who take care of the person and their health”.

Also present was the Mayor, lawyer. Giovanna Brunowho expressed great appreciation for the exhibition, defining it as «a highly emotional and emotional exhibition. The black and white images capture gestures and glances that speak of humanity and fragility. A humanity that silently asks us to take care of it.”

Mirella Caldaroneauthor of the photographs, explained how the exhibition was born from the need to tell «the beauty hidden in the experience of healthcare workers, in a period of tension and difficulty in the relationship with patients. With these shots, we wanted to mend that relationship of trust, underlining the human side of caring.”

The Diocese of Andria also offered its support to the initiative. Don Mimmo Basile, responsible for the diocesan library: «Welcoming this exhibition is a source of satisfaction for us. It is the first time that we host a photographic exhibition in this place which becomes more and more welcoming and which through culture is linked to our mission of caring for humanity.”

The photographic exhibition, which I had the honor of curating, is also enriched with an installation which is a tribute to “Ballon Girl” Banksy’s work with a particular declination of the message of hope: so that more and more of the “human race” can save itself. On the thermal covers there are titles of newspaper articles that talk about good healthcare with the same hope that there will be more and more space in our newspapers for articles that highlight the beauty and value of the human being behind the white coat.

The exhibition, with free admission, is open from Monday to Friday come on 9.30am to 1pm and from 4pm to 7pm. Sunday October 6 an extraordinary opening is scheduled from 10 to 12 with a “Dialogue with the protagonists”.
