An information day entitled “(Living) with autism” is organized by the Speech Therapy Department of the University of Ioannina, with the aim of informing and raising awareness about Autism Spectrum Disorder.
The conference will take place on Wednesday, April 17, at 6 pm, in the event hall of the General Archives of the State (GAK)-Historical Archive of Epirus (inside the Castle) and will be open to the public.
The day aims to create the conditions to achieve a dialogue between experts of different specialties, families and people with autism and citizens about the current reality, needs and potential conditions of real inclusion and dignified living of autistic people. At the same time, the challenges, experiences and perspectives of honest communication and association with people on the autism spectrum will be analyzed.
The workshop is coordinated by the assistant professor of Speech Therapy with an emphasis on Autism Spectrum Disorders Vasiliki Zarokanellou, in collaboration with the assistant professor of Speech Pathology Sultana Papadopoulou and the assistant professor of Speech Pathology with an emphasis on Communication Disorders Dionysios Tafiadis.
