The value of friendship and the fight against bullying

‘Let’s Unbolt: A Story of Ordinary Friendship’ is the title of the second edition of the competition open from today until May 27, 2022. Dedicated to all children of the fourth and fifth grades of primary school and to middle school children, the ComicContest is back launched as part of the educational project ‘La SMAgliante Ada ‘.

Ada is the overwhelming little dog who whizzes by with her fiery red electric wheelchair to tell what it means to live with her senior High Schooll’Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Starting from his experience, the children will be able to try their hand at an educational project based on themes that, today more than ever, represent a real educational challenge to build the future of our society. Themes to grow up, such as having to learn the value of friendship and the courage to deal with the phenomenon of bullying and peer abuse. Challenges faced with that light awareness that only the little ones know how to have, if well guided.

And it is precisely to the boys that little Ada launches the invitation again to go beyond fear arrogance and to find the courage to rewrite the rules of the game: “Guys, my friends and I need your help. We are dealing with comrades who behave like bullies and we are looking for the best way to resolve this situation together. The adventure has begun, but we need your talent to complete it! Alone or with your friends, we have until May 27th. Have fun drawing and, above all, give space to your super imagination! I can’t wait to read your comics! “

Designed bySMA Families Association and come on NeMO Clinical Centerswith Roche Italythe project was born in 2020 precisely to explain, with the simple language of comics, complex concepts such associal inclusion of people with neuromuscular pathologythe enhancement and the respect for uniqueness of each, the courage to know and to know each other to give value to what one is, up to the ability to transform your limit into a resource.

But there is more. Also this year the project is supported by a educational workshop open to all schoolswhich sees as its focus the issue of bullying in its many facets. An educational kit, developed by Ada’s team of designers and screenwriters, together with experts from SMA Families and NeMO Centers, accompanies Volume 2 of the comic and is available to teachers. Schools interested in joining the educational project can download the materials and request for free Volumes 1 and 2 of the comic in the dedicated section of the site Smaglianteidea

And just in a historical moment in which the messages of fear and violence fill the dreams of children, the SMAgliante Ada invites adults and children to experiment in looking for new ways to learn to live with others. With creativity, talent, awareness and with that weight of lightness that makes everything generative.
