Next September 26, as part of World Tourism Day, Lloret de Mar City Council and Lloret Turisme, bring back Lloret de Mar Tourism Night which resumes the Lloretenc Tourism Night that took place until 2010, for eight editions, and arrives again with “a fresh, modernized format that highlights the new trends and the more social side of the industry”, according to they say in a statement from the council.
The mayor of Lloret, Adrià Lamelas, explains that “tourism it is the most important economic activity in the municipality and many of our people are engaged in it, directly or indirectly. It is an act of recognition for all the people, companies and associations that contribute day by day to the work of the tourism sector”.
Lloret de Mar Tourism Night will take place at the Lloret Theater, at 7.30 p.m., and also recovers the “Lloret Tourism Awards” (until 2010, Premis Lloret) in order to “strengthen the pride of belonging to the Lloret sector and recognize all those who work in the continuous improvement and transformation of the destination”, assure the Town Council of the municipality.
The awards have been reformulated and consist of the following categories: professional career, entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainability, social commitment, emblematic establishment, local ambassador, international projection, outstanding professional and tourist communication.
The jury that will assess all the nominations received will meet next September 14 and will be chaired by the mayor of Lloret and formed by representatives of the social and business agents of the destination.
