The distribution of revenue from the main budgets of local authorities by region shows a high concentration at the level of six regions with 70.5% of these revenues, including Casablanca-Settat with 1.56 billion dirhams, representing 17.8%, Rabat-Salé- Kenitra with 12.4% and Dakhla-Oued Ed Dahab with 1.5%.

For their part, the ordinary expenditure of local authorities reached 4.6 billion dirhams, up by 6.2% due to the 23.9% increase in expenditure on other goods and services and 5.3% in expenses in debt interest, combined with the 0.9% drop in personnel expenses.

Investment expenditure by local authorities reached 929 million dirhams, up 344.5%, ie a surplus of 720 million dirhams. This can be explained in particular by the increase in issues under grants (+445 MDH), national programs (+183 MDH), integrated projects (46 MDH) and movable acquisitions (27 MDH).

The distribution of local authority expenditure by region shows a high concentration at the level of six regions with 68.7% of this expenditure. The expenses of the Casablanca-Settat region (915 MDH) represent 16.4% of the overall expenses of the local authorities, while those of the Dakhla-Oued Ed Dahab region represent 1.8% of the overall expenses.

Overall, the total expenditure incurred by local authorities (ordinary expenditure, investment expenditure and repayment of the principal of the debt) amounted, at the end of March 2023, to 6.4 billion dirhams, up 21.5% compared to their level at the end of March 2022, and are made up of 72.4% of ordinary expenses.
