He Locarno International Film Festival announced this Tuesday through his X account, that he will award a lifetime achievement award to the Mexican filmmaker, director and screenwriter, Alfonso Cuaronthis due to his career and influence in international cinema.

This event will take place from August 7 to 17 of this year, this being its 77th edition, the award named Lifetime Achievement Award, award that will be given to the Mexican filmmaker on August 11.

Festival organizer Giona A. Nazaro describes Cuarón’s cinema as “deeply eclectic,” capable of “capturing the imagination and touching the hearts of millions of viewers.” He also knows how to direct actors in a way that “sublimates the talent of the performers and makes their performances so iconic that they are often among the best of their careers.”
