“Lokomotiv” (Pd) continued its winning streak after beating “Cherno More” 1:0 in a match of the 28th round of the First League, played at the stadium in Plovdiv’s “Lauta” park. The football players of head coach Aleksandar Tomas were wildly supported by their fans, who created an incredible atmosphere in the stands.
The match started evenly, and in the 14th minute, Vasil Panayotov from the guests shot, the ball ricocheted into an opposing player, Daniel Dimov controlled it, but made an inaccurate shot. Ten minutes later, Babakar Dion shot dangerously, but Varna’s goalkeeper Ivan Dyulgerov saved.
The hosts pressed and in the 31st minute Oliver Kandem opened the scoring with a shot from a small angle after a pass from Dimitar Iliev. Two minutes later, Atanas Iliev from “Cherno More” got into a good position, but missed the goal. Seconds before the break, Efe Ali shot from a comfortable position, but Ivan Dylgerov kicked the leather ball that found its way to Jorge Segura, whose shot, however, turned out to be off target.
The visitors pressed at the start of the second half. In the 47th minute, Atanas Iliev headed over the goal. The Varna team continued to attack and in the 60th minute referee Nikola Popov disallowed Atanas Iliev’s goal due to an ambush. The hosts responded with a dangerous attack in the 70th minute when Dimitar Iliev shot sharply but Ivan Dyulgerov cleared.
In the 91st minute, Edgar Pasheko from the visitors crossed, and the ball met the hand of Miloš Petrović from the “black and white” in their penalty area. Popov decided not to award a penalty after consulting the VAR system.
