Cuban actress Lola Amores continues to add success to her career with her recent nomination for Best Female Performance at the XI Platinum Awards thanks to her work in the film “The Wild Woman”, directed by Alan González.

Just a week ago, Amores was crowned with the Biznaga de Plata for Best Female Performance at the recently concluded Malaga Festival for this same role.

To this we should also add the award that the Cuban received in December 2023 as Best Leading Actress at the Ceará Ibero-American Film Festival, in Brazil, also for her work in “The Wild Woman.”

In this edition of the Platino Awards, Lola Amores is the only representative of the island and in the category that appears as nominated there are other renowned actresses such as Carolina Yuste (“Saben Aquell” from Spain), Dolores Fonzi (“Blondi” from Argentina ), Laia Costa (“Un amor” from Spain) and Malena Alterio (“Let no one sleep” from Spain).

The awards also include an outstanding selection of films in competition, many of them with a long history in the film circuit and several international awards.

These include “El Conde” by Pablo Larraín and “La Sociedad de la Nieve” by Juan Antonio Bayona, competitors along with “La memoria infinite” by Maite Alberdi and “Sueños de Robot” by Pablo Berger, all previously nominated at the Awards. Oscar 2024.

This year, the cinematographic event brings together a total of 44 nominated works, which come from countries such as Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Spain, Mexico, Peru, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Venezuela and Cuba.

The delivery of the Platinum Awards in its 23 categories will take place on April 20 at the Gran Tlachco Theater, located in the XCARET park in the Riviera Maya, Mexico

It is worth remembering that in the last edition of the awards, the Cuban documentary “The Padilla Case” directed by filmmaker Pavel Giroud, won the award in the Best Documentary category.
