The whole Lombardy from tonight goes in dark orange. Starting from midnight today until March 14, the Lombardy region will be classified as an enhanced orange zone. It means that all the schools, except the nurseries, will be closed.
Fontana signed a single ordinance which also includes the previous ones. According to the latest data, currently in Lombardy hospitals there are 4,545 hospitalized for Covid and 532 positive Covid hospitalized in intensive care (+26 this morning. Here the bulletin of March 3).
The ordinance, among other things, provides for limited access to commercial activities (only one member per family), a ban on using play areas inside parks and a ban on going to second homes.
The decision was taken, confirms Palazzo Lombardia, on the basis of the trend of the epidemiological situation in the area, the peculiarities of the social and economic context and considering that the epidemiological situation presents the conditions of a rapid deterioration with a growing incidence in all the Lombardy territories, also in relation to the younger age groups.
The ordinance approved today ceases the effects of the ordinances previously issued in relation to the positioning of a series of territories in the reinforced orange band that are considered outdated. The Lombardy Region Covid-19 Indicators Commission – explains President Fontana – following the data analysis carried out, shared the need to overcome the differentiation between areas by assuming reinforced mitigation interventions for the whole regional territory with the aim, in addition to containing the increase in infections, of preserving the areas not yet affected by a high incidence.
