On a night full of patriotic fervor and tradition, the Governor of the State of Jalisco, Enrique Alfaro Ramírez, led what was his last ceremony of the Grito de Independencia from the Government Palace, in the emblematic Plaza de Armas of Guadalajara, where he exclaimed in the speech before the people of Jalisco the Federalism, the Republic, the division of powers and the Free and Sovereign State of Jalisco.

At 9:00 p.m., Alfaro Ramírez energetically recalled the national heroes who gave the country its homeland and freedom, waving the tricolor flag from the main balcony of the Government Palace in commemoration of the 214th anniversary of the beginning of the struggle for Mexico’s independence. More than 90,000 people gathered in Plaza de Armas, Plaza Liberación and Plaza Guadalajara.

The traditional “Viva México!” resonated among the attendees, who, with flags, gave life to a memorable night.

“Mexicans: Today we meet once again to celebrate the conquest of our freedom and our national independence. Today we want to celebrate together our homeland and also the pride of being from Jalisco. The pride that here in this land slavery was abolished, federalism was forged and we fight every day to defend the Republic.

Therefore, from the heart of Guadalajara, this is the voice of the people of Jalisco;

Long live the women and men who gave us our homeland and freedom!
Long live Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla!
Long live Josefa Ortiz de Dominguez!
Long live Jose Maria Morelos!
Long live Leona Vicario!
Long live Ignacio Allende!

Long live Aldama!
Long live Rita Perez Jimenez!
Long live Vicente Guerrero!
Long live Guadalupe Victoria!
Long live Pedro Moreno and Captain Manuela Medina!
Long live José Antonio Torres and Gertrudis Bocanegra!

Long live Mexican Federalism!
Long live the Republic and the separation of powers!
Long live the Free and Sovereign State of Jalisco!
“Long live Mexico!, Long live Mexico!, Long live Mexico!” the Jalisco governor resounded.

The event took place in an atmosphere of order and security, with a clean slate, thanks to the coordinated efforts of local authorities and security forces. The impeccable organisation was noteworthy, guaranteeing the enjoyment and safety of the thousands of attendees.

At the end of the ceremony, those present witnessed a majestic fireworks display that illuminated the sky of the capital of Jalisco.

The celebration then continued with a concert by the renowned musical group La Arrolladora Banda El Limón, who delighted the audience with their traditional band music, making this evening a truly popular celebration.

Among the songs that were sung in the completely packed Liberation Square were Entre Beso y Beso, El Ruido de tus Zapatos, el Final de Nuestra Historia, La Llamada de mi ex, and other hits from this group that takes regional Mexican music internationally.

Prior to all these festivities, the Rabiosos del Norte filled the congregated families with music, making them dance. After their performance, they listened to the shout and began the fireworks.

During the cry of Independence, already traditional in the Chapalita neighborhood, more than 8,500 people gathered.
