Looked pensive and spoke slowly: Lisa Marie Presley’s last appearance

The singer Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of the king of rock and roll Elvis Presley, who passed away tonight (Friday) at the age of 54 after suffering a cardiac arrest, did not have an easy life. Presley, who was orphaned by her father when she was 9 years old and became the sole heir to the “Graceland Estate”, experienced another tragedy in July 2020, after her son, Benjamin Storm Keough, ended his life when he was only 27 years old.

“Lisa Marie is completely heartbroken, inconsolable and completely devastated,” a representative said at the time. “She’s trying to stay strong for her 11-year-old twins and her oldest daughter, Riley. She adored her son. He was the love of her life.”

Presley’s last public appearance was at the Golden Globes ceremony held on Tuesday, and some said that even then she looked in poor health, spoke slowly and looked a bit pensive and unfocused.

In one of the interviews she gave on the red carpet, she leaned on a friend who came with her to the ceremony, and was heard saying to him: “I’m going to hold your hand.”

Presley, who celebrated her father’s 88th birthday a few days before the ceremony, told Extra TV that Austin Butler, who won the lead actor in a drama award for his role in the Elvis biopic, perfectly captured the essence of her father, the legendary singer.

She noted that Butler’s performance was “amazing and authentic” and added that it took her “several days to digest it.” She also said that she is proud of the result and that she is excited by the timing of the ceremony near her father’s birthday.
