The mayor of Sofia, Vasil Terziev, checked how the renovation of the rhythmic gymnastics hall of the club “Levski-Triaditsa” is going.

The hall is located in the 47th SU “Hristo G. Danov”, and the Olympic vice-champion in the all-around from the Paris Games, Boryana Kalein, as well as the Olympic champions with the ensemble of Bulgaria from Tokyo 2020, Madeleine Radukanova and Laura Traats, trained there.

At the moment, insulation is being installed on the walls and the roof of the hall is being made. “Levski-Triaditsa” club has been trying to get permission for repairs for the last few years and in early April signed a contract with the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

The Metropolitan Municipality renewed the club’s contract for free use for the next ten years, and from July 1, repairs to the facility have already begun. It is expected to last until the end of September, but more funds are needed. Therefore, “Levski-Triaditsa” is organizing a campaign to raise the necessary BGN 210,000, which is ongoing. 80 registered gymnasts and a total of 200 gymnasts train in the club. At the moment, the competitors are preparing in other halls with the help of the Bulgarian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation.

Vasil Terziev also attended the ceremonial welcome of Boryana Kalein, organized by “Levski-Triaditsa”. As expected, the happiest were the children, to whom the Olympic vice-champion gave her silver medal to be photographed with it, and from them she received many flowers and specially drawn pictures. Her coach Marijana Pamukova also received many bouquets and gifts.

Official guests were also Yana Genova, Deputy Mayor for Culture, Education, Sports and Youth Activities, Dimitar Bozhilov, Mayor of Triaditsa District, Vilhelm Novachkov, Director of the 47th School, Desislava Temelkova, Director of the Directorate ” Sports and Youth Activities” at the Metropolitan Municipality, Dr. Galya Mancheva, founder and executive director of the “For Healthier Children” Foundation.

“I thank everyone for the respect and for the fact that the club hall is being renovated. I am happy that these children will be able to train in better conditions and reach greater achievements than ours. There used to be a sign in the gym to motivate the gymnasts – “Beat yourself to beat the whole world”. I did it! I won at the Olympic Games and that’s the most important thing,” shared Boryana Kalein.
