Atalanta overturns the result and after being one goal down, beats Sporting Lisbon 2-1, gaining access to the quarter-finals of the Europa League. The first leg at the José Alvalade stadium ended 1-1. The Portuguese took the lead in the 33rd minute through Pedro Gonçalves on an assist from Viktor Gyökeres.
La Dea responded first in the 46th with Ademola Lookman’s goal served by Éderson and then in the 59th with Gianluca Scamacca following a pass from Aleksej Miranchuk.
The first half
In the tenth minute, corner for Atalanta from the right, Miranchuk’s cross to the far post, Djimsiti’s head hitting the top of the crossbar. Shortly after Kolasinac steals the ball from Edwards, passes to Holm, crosses again to the head of Kolasinac who then touches it with his shoulder, dirtying the trajectory, just wide.
In the 33rd minute Gonçalves receives from the left for Sporting, pass to Gyökeres, sprint into the area, the number 9 returns the ball to him and again Gonçalves alone in front of Musso puts the ball under the goalkeeper’s legs with a low shot and scores: Lisbon ahead at the Gewiss Stadium.

In the 37th left-footed Holm from an excellent position and the ball directly into the arms of the Portuguese goalkeeper Israel.
At the 42nd lateral foul for Atalanta beaten by Holm, Djimsiti’s header, Scamacca is marked by Diomande who also holds him by the shirt, but starts an overhead kick with the left foot which ends in a curve. A minute later, Holm assists in the area again for Scamacca, great shot, Israel flies and saves in the corner.
After a slow half hour in which the teams studied each other, the Portuguese goal triggered a response from Atalanta who came close to equalizing on a couple of occasions. Teams in the locker rooms at 0-1 for Sporting.
The second half
In the second half, at the 46th Nerazzurri cross from Ederson from the left, Miranchuk diving closes with his head, the ball crosses the entire Sporting area without any defender intercepting it, Lookman is at the far post and one step away from the goal line he puts it into the net : Atalanta draw.
At the 57th heel from Gyökeres for Edwards, Musso comes out and anticipates him. Atalanta responds with Scamacca who from the edge of the area makes a pass to Miranchuk, the number 59 returns the ball to him and Scamacca scores: Dea ahead.
In the 87th minute Paulinho is all alone in front of Musso who however comes out and anticipates his opponent’s lob. Three minutes later Nuno Santos’ cross, Musso clears, Kolasinac fails to clear, Edwards sends the ball into the corner.
