Scientific dissemination meets again in Granada to celebrate the ninth edition of Desgranando Ciencia on April 28 and 29 at the emblematic Isabel la Católica Theater. With ten years of experience behind it, the Andalusian reference event in scientific dissemination commemorates on this occasion the figure of Federico García Lorca to combine, once again, scientific knowledge with curiosity, humor and entertainment in short ten-minute talks.

The program is made up of more than sixty disseminators and researchers from all over the country and can be found on the official website. Free admission, the event receives the support of different entities such as the City Council and the University of Granada or the Institute of Astrophysics of Andalusia (IAA-CSIC). However, an event of such magnitude is possible thanks to the patrons who continue to participate in the crowdfunding campaignstill open.

For those who cannot attend the appointment in person, the event will also be available live through the Desgranando Ciencia official website and of the Talking about Science Youtube channel.

Artificial intelligence, astronomy, medicine, psychology, biotechnology… A lot of science is produced in Granada and it will take advantage of the stage to make it known to its citizens. The Isabel la Católica Theater will bring together researchers from the Zaidín Experimental Station (EEZ-CSIC), the center Genyo de Genómica e Investigación Oncológica, the DaSCI institute that promotes Andalusian research in Artificial Intelligence, the Institute of Parasitology and Biomedicine “López-Neyra” (IPBLN-CSIC) or the Institute of Astrophysics of Andalusia, in addition to laboratories of the University of Grenade.

As the most prominent speakers at the national level, the public will enjoy the interventions of the dietitian-nutritionist Aitor Sánchez (disseminator in My Diet Limps), the humorist Raquel Sastre or the biotechnologist and popularizer Ricardo Moure (collaborator in the TVE2 program Orbit Time and member of the collective Big Van Science), among many others.

It will also have regular popularizers and communicators at Naukas events such as the psychologist Laura Morán, the physicist Enrique F. Borja (Quantum Tales), the journalist Susana Escudero (creator of El Radioscopio) or the researcher Guillermo Peris.

As a climax, both days will close with shows that mix the arts with the world of science. On Friday it will be animated with an improvised theater session “i^m=Pro(0) experiments” and on Saturday it will culminate with the performance “The crystallization of dance” by Juan M. García-Ruíz (CSIC-UGR), the choreographer and dancer Vanesa Aibar and the guitarist and singer María Marín. Access is free and free to both until full capacity is reached.

Destroying Science is an event organized by the non-profit association Hablando de Ciencia and the company Laniakea Management & Communication, with the support of the Granada City Council, the University of Granada and the Institute of Astrophysics of Andalusia (IAA). It also has the collaboration of the Society for the Advancement of Critical Thinking (ARP), the business project WAUW-Scientific Seduction, the Faculty of Pharmacy of the UGR, together with its Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology II, and the Association of Students of the Colegio Mayor Ysabel la Católica.
